First-Playable Changelog 10/22 - 10/29
Narrative Additions
Added a voiced Radio character to narrate the plot through brief updates
Added world map to ground the player in the world and provide context for the gameplay
Breaks gameplay into “level sets” to help prevent puzzle fatigue, as well as provide opportunities for scenic vignettes and story beats
Added 3D model “decorations” within levels to further ground the player in the world, and provide further context and connection between gameplay and narrative elements
Visual Clarity
Selected one constant camera angle that provides visibility of full level
Added light sources & shadows
Removed shaders & object particle effects
Character & Object models now touch the ground they are standing on
Level “decorations” are shown in both greyscale and full color to play around with methods of visually distinguishing interactable entities from decorative entities
In-level indicator displaying progress within the current level set
Selected tile colors based on height within level to help distinguish height
Controls are displayed with an image rather than through text
Pressing Escape or Space in-level brings up the controls
When placing objects, tiles that you can place on are highlighted
Mechanics & Controls
Switch from Mouse controls to Keyboard controls
Added Cat movement options
Climb up / Fall down walls of any height
Jump over gaps
Light Objects & The Cat can now move with a crate they are resting on
Abandoned all of the previous levels
Added 30 new levels, built to teach all of the existing mechanics
